i think they did that because they want more people to get the DS so they make friends by you to get the DS so they make more money i think...and if it was WiFi enabled how would you talk to someone on the other side of the globe? Same as pokemon where you have Friend Codes?? I dont know..

there shuld be online pictochat, but nt with fcs so tht u can like meet new ppl and stuff

Parents might not even let there kids use it due to parents being scared of there kids being told things an then getting kidnapped or something becaus of that wifi chat if it ever comes out.
